my friend brings his dog to my house quite regularly and his dog now craps in my house in different places every time! It is deliberate as he has access to out doors at all times. Obviously I keep an eye on him but he always manages to sneak off and do his do on my rugs. If I leave him outside he craps on the veranda. How does he get trained as I feel sorry for it as he whimpers when tied up under a tree.

They are accustomed to their own home and surroundings. They adjust what is the proper place for potty through their house training. However, when they move to a new location, they are distracted from their training and adjustment. I believe it is a fairly common practice. But you are correct that it is a very embarrassing situation.
