I have heard many wonderful things about female packs. Give them equal attention and let them work it out. If you have other questions, ask our community on our FB group

She loves other dogs and has always enjoyed companionship. We got a puppy, another female, who is 8 weeks old. They love and adore each other. But only after we got the pup did I read all the horror stories of owning two female Boxers. Now I am freaking out. It says I won’t know for 2 years if they will fight but if they do it will be awful. I don’t know what to do. I am terrified I have introduced a disaster into my older Boxers life.

It’s affected his front middle teeth and all the time I thought he had lost them playing tug. I’m torn. Why should I put him thru the extreme pain and trauma when he seems just fine?

My baby Duke used to pull as well but he listens so well now. It take time she is still a puppy and usually it takes up till 1yr for them to start fully obeying. They are loyal dogs and want to make you happy so just give her time. My friend gave me a clicker and I used it to train Duke with lots of patience. He listens now well and if he knows he upsets me or disappoints me he shows this sad face! Omg do I hate the sad face, my heart melts. Just keep her active with play dates or dog parks at 6-8 months. Be cautious because boxers are not aggressive and other dogs can be. Your baby will come around and you see how smart she is and how she wants to please you. But she will drive ya little insane until she gets little older. Good luck.

OMG all her adorable traits are listed above. Cuddles like no bodies business, does the curly bean dance and is so headstrong and cuckoo sometimes, it’s amazing. Love her to death, she is so endearing with her silliness. She jumps like she’s on a trampoline and loves to play with other dogs, and considers all strangers to be friends she hasnt’ met yet. What a sweetheart.

Daisy’s has a partial jaw remove on the bottom. One side goes back to the premolars and the other to the molars. It’s not as bad as you may think. I grind her kibble and mix it with water to make an oatmeal consistency. She can drink water normally and just as messy as before. Send me an email at Dayna@thedailyboxer.com and I’ll send you pics. Have you considered any holistic measures beyond the surgery? They’ll probably recommend chemo or radiation after the surgery. I did not do that with Daisy. We used a holistic vet (no more expemsive than a regular vet) who used Chinese herbal treatment. I can send you that info too via email. Good luck with your decision. It’s hard when they’re family. Xoxox

My boy has a large mass/tumor in his lower jaw that was removed but came back. It looks to me, like a giant blood bubble. They want o do a biopsy to see which type of cancer it is. Then from there remove a large portion of his jaw bone. It is really hard to think about what things will be like for him without the bottom jaw. Also, the expense is large with trying to put my son through college on 1 income. I am sure that sounds horrible but it is my situation. I am trying to make a good but I cant seem to understand what he will be like with that jaw missing and eating an drinking. The surgeon did say he would be a “messy” dog with drooling and eating/drinking which I am willing to figure out. I just don’t want him to be in paid and then I think what if it just grows back somewhere else. So much to take in from this. This boy is so healthy other than this cancer that just formed in November 2017. When the vet removed it the first time she thought it would grow back and said we would need a biopsy if it did grow back. I am just confused here.

Comment on What is Prototheca – Belle’s Story! by Kathy Stout https://thedailyboxer.com/boxer-health/what-is-prototheca-belles-story/#comment-24206 Tue, 30 Jan 2018 22:44:11 +0000 http://thedailyboxer.com/?p=1934#comment-24206 Our 2 1/2 yr old femal boxer contracted the Canine Prototheca. We are devestated. We had to euthanize her. Her story is the same as Belle’s. I cry every day. It is tragic that a healthy, strong, young dog can’t fight a fungus. Horrifying. I’m traumatized to even think of getting another boxer. Crushed, I tell you, just heartbreaking.
